1st Annual OTA Fishing Adventure and Osprey Catch Contest

Saturday, May 26th

Please buy your tickets for the 1st Annual OTA Fishing Adventure and Osprey Catch Contest, May 26th from 730 AM to 3PM.

Whether you and your children are the most seasoned anglers, or just want to learn what fishing is all about, this event is great for OTA families of all ages*.  $60 per person on the 70 person capacity “Daily Double” will set you up with fishing poles and bait, burger and drink,  on the boat, and instruction and plenty of wild fish stories from none other than San Diego Fishing Legend, and current OTA School Board President,  Dr. Hookset himself, Ken Morris.
The event will be hosted as well by our very own Brazilian Top Chef applicant, Cecilia Marcondes, who when she is not fishing, will share fresh fish preparation and cooking advice with interested parents, as well as being a world-class conversationalist in general.

And, of course, what would be a fishing trip without a fishing contest!   The Osprey Catch Contest is a little different in that every ticket purchased comes with 2 raffle tickets with prizes that will include a brand new fishing rod and reel and gift cards to some of our favorite restaurant and eateries.
But for those Osprey who’s talons come up full fishing that day, our judge, Dr. “Hookset” Morris, will award student prizes in age categories of:

9 and under 10 and over for:

Heaviest Fish
Longest Fish
Smallest Fish
Shortest Fish

Like all OTAPF Community events, this is a FUNd Raiser for our school, and tickets are purchased directly from the 501c3, Old Town Academy Parents Foundation.  So fish for OTA on May 26th.  We will see you there!

*We ask this not be a “drop off” event, in the most rigid sense of the concept.  If a parent is going that you know, and they will claim your child as their own, no problem, but a chaperone of some sort must be arranged for all junior anglers. Children under 16 do not need a fishing license, but all adults, wishing to fish, must purchase at least a day pass on the boat for $16.
